CommentsHello Sabine and Mike. I visited Mike back in 1998 and we had a long walk on the beach. You came later over to say hello to my wife and daughter. We stayed in a lodge by the beach owned by a Swedish lady. You showed me your wonderful home and told me about Sabines horses and the Danish vet. I have tried to find information about you and was afraid that you had been hurt during the Kenya tribalm problems. So glad to see that you are succesful and kicking. Some day I shall see you again. Best regards Flemming from Copenhagen

CommentsHey guys you are doing a super cool job with all your projects. The furniture is stunning as ever and the Swahili House project is gorgeous. You have done great things. I miss Tiwi and Diani - I lived in Kenya for eleven years, four of which in Kilifi and then Diani. Spent loads of time in Tiwi. Back in UK life is less exciting - but I feel a visit to my favourite place is on the cards very soon. Keep up the good work. Salaams Jo

CommentsFunzi Furniture has held 2 major golf charity events in the past 4 years at Leisure Golf Club in Diani. We raised over 1,000,000/- benfiting over 10 separate charities. But our main contribution to this society is enabling more than 20 skilled craftsmen the means to produce magnificent pieces of furniture that they do not have to sell tomorrow to sustain their families.

CommentsHey!This is Øystein from Norway. I just happened to stumble across this site, as I went to Tiwi beach last year. That time I took a picture of the beach which I later enlarged and put on my wall. Today I noticed some small letters in the distance that spelled this address, and here I am. Some good pieces of craftmanship you have there! And good luck in the Football World Cup!

CommentsI love your website. The detail in each piece is unique. I am interested in seeing more pieces on this site.

CommentsIt is really a unique site. I enjoyed the atmosphere around each of the pieces of furniture... It makes me want to go to a place so deserted, so there is no worry in anyone wanting to steal anything... I need to sit down and design some pieces of furniture, according to what I love... Thank you for letting me enjoy this site

Later joined Hennepin Technical college in Minnesota USA where I am specializing in Cabinetmaking- CAD design, laminates, solid forms, fabrication, millwork among a great range of studies. Came across Funzi furniture factory when doing a research paper on ancient designs and furniture.Funzi had very vital information especially towards what I needed in compiling a report. I gave you credit for providing the information! where else I would have gotten it! I am proud of you guys and proud of my country too.Charles Mogeni

CommentsHabari-ganiI came across your web site while searching for LAMU. I used to live in Lamu from 1983-1986 as a Peace Corps Volunteer and working at Lamu Boys Secondary. What a beautiful place!!! My place was high in the town across the street from the old hospital just above the market. I was living there while they were building the new hospital.I was looking for a particular type of chair. These are made in the Lamu style with string support and double layered arms that pivot out and around to act as a dinner table. Are you familar with these? I always made note of the classic furniture, doors and other features while in Lamu...always impressive.Anyway, I think you are down by Diani Beach, aren't you? Thanks a lot... I will look again your site.

The few pieces of furniture were absolutely beautiful! However, there weren't nearly enough to satisfy the appetite. Is is possible that you have a catalog to order from? Also, do you ship to the U.S.? I live in California and am very interested in your Henry Bed. Please contact me by either e-mail (amiraimage@aol.com) or via mail: Sala Amira Makeda 20687-2 Amar Road, #304 - U.S.A. Walnut, California 91789 Thank you!
Howdy! What an Awesome website! Sometime in the near furure I'll be contacting you for an Elephant Table--and perhaps a few other things. After seeing your Thrones,a plain chair will never "do it for me" again. Amazing work by amazing people. Thank you for exposing us to your beautiful world! Joanna in the USA
